Fijians shine in France Underline 17 February, 2011
Sakiusa Matadigo - powerful off the back of the scrum.
With seven months to go until the Rugby World Cup kicks off, and under sunny skies, the Fijians of the Top 14 competition in France continued to shine.

It was a weekend that offered some intriguing clashes - (5th v 2nd) Montpellier v Clermont and (3rd v 6th) Racing Metro of Paris v Castres.

The final whistle in both games saw the home teams run out winners, with major contributions from Sireli Bobo of the Racing and Timoci Nagusa at Montpellier.

In Paris, Sireli (with five tries already this season) put in another impressive display which saw Albert Vulivuli and Jone Qovo involved.

Down in Montpellier, Nagusa's try (his 7th in 2010/2011), allowed for an empthatic win over the current French champions, Clermont. For Clermont Kini Murimurivali impressed. The former Fiji U19 captain is seen as a rising star in the eyes of many, taking over at Clermont from a fading Napolioni Nalaga.

To finish this week's summary of what' s happening amongst the Flying Fijians in France there are two names to mention:

Rupeni Caucau - back at his best with a try with his new club, Toulouse;

Sakisua Matadigo, out injured at the moment, but very much an important part of Montpellier - the surprise package of this season's Top 14 competition. His driving runs, from the back of scrums, always merit a mention.

Cheers.
