FIJI RUGBY LOTTERY
Fiji Rugby began its build up to the 2011 Rugby World Cup on 28 August, 2009 with the official launch of its Fiji Rugby lottery at the Fiji Club in Suva. Since that date the Fiji Rugby lottery has spread its wings far and wide with interest pouring in from all corners of the globe.
The lottery was the brainchild of Fiji Rugby Union (FRU) Chairman Bill Gavoka.
“Preparations for any world cup are an expensive business, so we needed something to kick start our campaign and we felt the best way was to get people behind the team with this lottery,” Gavoka said.
A glimpse at the media on any given day reveals the importance rugby plays in the lives of the people of Fiji with everyone eager to express an opinion on all aspects of Fiji Rugby, whether it be about the provincial competition, the national team or the make up of the FRU Board.
“Many, many people have an opinion on Fiji rugby however few get the opportunity to directly assist Fiji rugby. This lottery allows them to do just that and in the process they have a chance to win a substantial amount of money for their efforts.”
Each lottery tickets costs FJD20 with a total prize pool of FJD300, 000 and a top prize of FJD100, 000.
The breakdown of the cash prizes is as follows:
1st Prize: FJD100, 000.00
2nd Prize: FJD70, 000.00
3rd Prize: FJD30, 000.00
Three prizes of FJD10, 000.00
Three prizes of FJD5, 000.00
Ten prizes of FJD2, 000.00

To administer the lottery the FRU has hired two lottery officers in Priya Cook and Tevita Waqairawai. Both Tevita and Priya are available on email or phone to answer all enquiries on the lottery and to take bookings.
