Vodafone Fiji 7s Host FRU Staff to Morning Tea

The Vodafone Fiji 7s team hosted the Fiji Rugby Union staff to morning tea yesterday to thank them for their support throughout the year and also to farewell the Chief Executive Officer Radrodro Tabualevu. It was the first time for a national team to entertain the staff at rugby house to a get together to show their gratitude of the hard work behind the scenes towards their success.

Not only was it for the work that was done but to also welcome the new rugby season which kicks off next month at Dubai.

Ben Ryan mentioned in his speech that when they win he hopes the media could also speak more about those that work tirelessly behind the scene.

“We are all part of a team success and we can say that we all fight the big fight for Fiji rugby” Ryan said.

While trying to create an aura of invincibility, the team will need the support from all stakeholders which includes those at rugby house.

“When the team score a try or win a tournament, you can say that you are part of that victory. We also would like to thank and farewell the CEO who has rugby and players at heart.”

Mr Tabualevu spoke on behalf of the staff saying that the get together was to celebrate the work that they are called to do.

“Many are called but a few a chosen and it is your duty to be an example wherever you are, on and off the field,” Tabualevu said.

He also reminded the team of the big task ahead next year where they will be on center stage at the Rio Olympics game.

“I don’t believe in God but I know there is a God and it is your duty as believers to live by example, you don’t have to say that you believe but it should be when people see you they can see God,” Tabualevu said.

“Most of the time we at rugby house get the brunt from the public and fans when the team does not perform and we can only conclude that rugby brings joy to the country,” he said.

“We have the making of champions but all the hard work and sacrifices will now be manifested in August next year.”

The Vodafone Fiji 7s team will depart for Dubai this Thursday at 4.30pm.
